The Space

Booking Villas 3 & 4 gives your group the entire Jungle House building at Los Antonio: one villa downstairs and one villa upstairs, both fully self-contained. It feels like your own small building in Puerto Carrillo, with everyone close together but not crammed into one unit.

Across the two villas, you’ll have:

  • 3 Grand/California King beds + 1 sofa bed
  • 2 full bathrooms with hot water
  • 2 full kitchens with fridges and basic cookware
  • Indoor dining and living areas in each villa
  • Outdoor sitting areas and balconies with views over the courtyard and hills

Downstairs (Villa 3)

  • Efficiency-style apartment with:
    • 1 King bed
    • 1 full-size futon / sofa bed
    • Private bathroom
    • Full kitchen with oven, stove, fridge, microwave
    • Coffee maker, toaster, rice cooker, and basic kitchen essentials
    • Indoor dining table plus a small outdoor dining space

Upstairs (Villa 4)

  • Upper-level king suite with:
    • King bed sleeping area
    • Private bathroom with hot water
    • Full kitchen for simple meals at home
    • Indoor seating and dining
    • Balcony / outdoor area with views of the surrounding village and hills

Together, Jungle House works great if you want more of a “little compound” feel: separate floors, two kitchens, and enough beds for friends, couples, or a small group.

Beach & Location

Jungle House sits in Playa Carrillo / Puerto Carrillo, in a convenient spot near the plaza:

  • Easy walk or quick drive to Playa Carrillo, known for its calm water and palm-lined shore
  • Ideal for swimming, boogie boarding, and long walks under the trees
  • Far quieter than big resort towns, but still close enough to Sámara for day trips, surf, and nightlife

Right by the property you’ll find:

  • The local fútbol field where you can watch games and village life
  • A resort-style pool across the street
  • Nearby hotels, small restaurants, and simple cafés

It’s a very relaxed, “live like a local” position in Carrillo.

Safe, Quiet Neighborhood with Parking

Jungle House is part of the Los Antonio complex, tucked into a calm, residential pocket:

  • Located near the main plaza and football field, with neighbors and everyday activity
  • Free parking on the premises, so you can park your rental car right by the building
  • The village is walkable and low-key, with a friendly, laid-back feel

Most guests appreciate that they can walk to the store, restaurants, and the beach without feeling isolated or stuck on a highway.

Remote Work & Longer Stays

Jungle House is well set up for remote workers and longer stays:

  • Fast Wi-Fi (around 125–130 Mbps) – suitable for video calls, streaming, and uploads
  • Two separate villas make it easy to split “work” and “chill” zones
  • Air conditioning keeps both units comfortable, especially in the afternoons
  • Puerto Carrillo is quiet, while Sámara is close for coworking cafés, more restaurants, and errands

If your group mixes work and vacation, this building lets everyone get what they need without stepping on each other.

FAQ

Do I need to rent a car, or can I stay here without one?

You can absolutely stay here without a rental car if you’re comfortable walking and using local transport. The beach, grocery store, and several places to eat are all within walking distance. There’s also a local bus route connecting Puerto Carrillo and Sámara, plus taxis that can be arranged if needed. That said, if you want to explore multiple beaches and towns along the Nicoya Peninsula on your own schedule, a rental car gives you the most flexibility.

How does cleaning work during my stay? Are linens and towels provided?

The apartment is professionally cleaned before your arrival, and fresh bed linens and bath towels are provided for your group. For stays of a week or more, we can help arrange an optional mid-stay cleaning and linen change for an additional fee – just ask before or during your trip. There is space to hang-dry clothes and towels, and if you’d like recommendations for local laundry services, we’re happy to share options.

What should I expect in terms of noise (fútbol field, village, wildlife)?

Most guests find Puerto Carrillo peaceful compared to larger tourist towns, but it is still a real Costa Rican village. From time to time you may hear fútbol games on the field, children playing, dogs, roosters in the morning, or music from local gatherings, especially on weekends or holidays. Inside the apartment, noise is usually moderate, but if you’re a very light sleeper, we recommend bringing earplugs for extra comfort, just like anywhere in rural Costa Rica.

What happens if there’s a power or internet outage during my stay?

In coastal areas of Costa Rica, it’s normal to have occasional short power or internet interruptions, especially during storms or maintenance. Most outages are brief and resolve on their own. If anything lasts longer than expected, send us a quick message so we can check with the provider and give you an update. We always recommend downloading important work files, maps, and tickets offline before traveling, just in case you need to access them while things reboot.
